Chris Tucker to Host the BET Awards /Consuella Mackey, Director Operation Confidence
On Thursday, July 11, 2013, Chris Tucker will host the BET Awards at the Nokia Theater in L.A.

“We cannot wait for Chris to set fire to the BET Awards stage with his unique brand of mayhem," said Stephen Hill, President of Music Programming and Specials. “We've been chasing him for years and we couldn't be happier that he is hosting the show in this special year: the year we embark on the three-day-long BET Experience."
"I am honored to be asked to host this year's BET Awards," says Tucker. "I'm looking forward to being part of a really great show."
This year's BET Awards caps off the BET Experience, the three-day event featuring a headlining performance by Beyoncé, comedy showcases, live taping of 106 & Park and much more.
On May 3, 2005, I, Consuella Mackey, Executive Director of Operation Confidence had the pleasure of being on the same show with Chris and his mother, Mary Louise Tucker invited by First Lady Serita Jakes, wife of the renowned Bishop TD Jakes.
First Lady Jakes invited my niece, Georgia and I to Atlanta Georgia traveled their on their private plane to be on her TBN show after she and her family saw us on the hit TV Show ABC Extreme Makeover Home Edition. I was blessed to a recipient due to my work with individuals with a disability and the sole provider for the immediate family that included Georgia.
